Nova Molloy
Senior Mortgage & Protection Advisor (Owner and the face behind the company name!)
Having started my career at age 16 with Natwest, I worked my way up the ladder to becoming a Financial Adviser at the age of 21. After winning several awards with them, I was head-hunted by a large life insurance firm, who owned a national estate agency chain where I went onto have a successful career; again winning awards, building up a wide knowledge of the mortgage and property market.
My passion and the reason why I decided to form NOVA Mortgages, was to be able to give honest advice to clients, based on my years of experience working in the property market and buying and selling my own properties.
A client’s interests always come first. This is the mantra I operate under and also the reason why NOVA Mortgages has not followed the industry trend of charging clients for advice as I truly believe that good, honest advice should be accessible to everyone.
As most of my clients know I have a passion for socialising, holidays and spending time with my family. I feel very blessed to not only work with a great team but to have so many wonderful and supportive clients.
Simon Perry
Senior Mortgage and Protection Advisor
I started working with Nova in 2020, having spent 30 years in the financial services industry; starting my career way back in 1988 with Barclays Bank and from here I then went on to work in most aspects of the industry from an Independent Financial Advisor, through to operating in a large Corporate Estate Agent as a Mortgage Broker, Development and Area Manager.
Through these years I have gained the knowledge to be able to support my clients through almost any situation and most importantly, learned that it was the day-to-day interaction directly with clients that I enjoy most.
Therefore when the opportunity to work with Nova (whom I have known for more than 20 years) arose, it was an easy decision, knowing that she holds the same belief as myself, that a client’s interests come before everything else.
Outside of work I spend time with my wife, daughter and dog. I also run with The Harvel Hash House Harriers under the club name ‘Shrek’ (according to them I am clumsy and not built for running!). This has enabled me to run 3 London Marathons to date for a number of charities including the children’s cancer charity, Young Lives vs Cancer. I am always signing up to new running events and with the support of NOVA Mortgages am able to raise much-needed funds for the charities close to my heart.
Ben Quennell
Senior Mortgage and Protection Advisor CeMAP
I began my career in banking and qualified as a mortgage broker in 2012 with the country’s largest building society. The following year I changed my working environment and began working as an estate agency-based mortgage broker with a national estate agency group, working between offices in London and Kent. I was approached by a top local independent mortgage brokers where I worked for 8 years, building a large client base across SE and DA postcodes. This company was then bought by a large corporate which reminded me why I joined a smaller company in the first place!
Nova Mortgages is an ideal fit for me, being a fast-growing local company that emphasises exceptional customer service.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my young family.
Jen Kirby
Mortgage and Protection Advisor
I started working in an administrative role in the financial services industry following a school work experience placement in a financial advice practice. From there, I worked my way up to Mortgage Adviser in 2019. I went on to specialise in the fast-paced world of new-builds, then joined the team at NOVA Mortgages in April 2023. I knew NOVA Mortgages was the firm for me from my first interview with Nova, we were chatting away, telling each other our life story and before we knew it 2 hours had passed! I truly believe that the principles embedded in NOVA Mortgages is what sets it above any competitor, with customer service at the heart of everything we do.
Outside of work, I like to watch and sometimes play rugby, go skiing and be an overbearing auntie to my niece and nephew.
Megan Sawyer
Trainee Mortgage and Protection Advisor
I began working at Nova Mortgages in July 2023 and am currently undertaking an apprenticeship in Financial Services Administration. I am working towards my CeMAP qualification as part of my apprenticeship and hope to be a fully qualified mortgage advisor towards the end of 2025.
I first visited Nova Mortgages as a work experience placement due to my parents being current clients of Nova’s and I have always taken an interest in finance and the property market. Prior to joining I worked in a part-time customer service role whilst I studied my A-Levels in Business, Finance and Economics.
Outside of work, I enjoy socialising with friends and travelling.
Paula Callaway
Case Progressor
My responsibilities within the company are primarily the progression of client mortgages, whether moving home, buy-to let purchases or remortgages. I liaise with all parties to ensure a smooth and hopefully stress-free experience, giving clients the confidence of knowing that they are my main priority and focus.
The experience I have gained comes for over 30 years working for Natwest and a further 3 years for an Independent Financial Advisors before joining NOVA Mortgages in August 2020.
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing netball, yoga and walking my dog.
Matt Robertson
Mortgage and Protection Advisor
I began my career as an estate agent based on the high street, where I learned all the subtleties of the house buying process and got to experience many different scenarios and how to overcome any bumps in the road. After setting some individual records and winning awards , I quickly climbed the ranks to become a valuer and became more involved in helping clients move home from start to finish, which is when I realised how much I enjoyed working closely with clients to achieve their dreams.
My passion for giving advice grew, I realised that the best option for me is to change career and become a mortgage adviser. Today I get to speak to clients all throughout their life journey, from buying a house to remortgaging and any house moves in between, which is very rewarding for me personally. When I first became a mortgage adviser, I worked for a large corporate company which was very demanding but helped me learn even more about the industry, I grew a lot in that period. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the company it sometimes felt very mechanical, and I couldn’t be as involved with my clients as I would like to be, so when I met Nova I was very excited at the prospect of working with a company that puts it’s customers at the heart of everything they do. I knew that Nova Mortgages was the place for me and I haven’t looked back since.
Outside of work, I enjoy socialising with friends and travelling with my partner, I love football and boxing and regularly go to watch my team and favourite boxers."
Emma Northwood
Case Administrator & Progressor
I began my career in the financial services industry as a mortgage underwriter for Barclays where I gained a great insight into the mortgage industry. After having a family, I then became a mortgage administrator where I have continued in this role. I have great knowledge in the processing of mortgage applications from start to finish to ensure the process is as smooth and stress free as possible.
In my spare time I am a busy mum and enjoy spending time with my family and watching them play football.
